For working abroad
CSME Skills Certificate Assistance
For people going to work. The Skills Certificate is what lets an eligible skilled CARICOM national work in another member state without a work permit, and this is hands-on help getting that application together.
What it includes
- Working out which of the approved categories fits your qualification
- A document checklist built around your category and your destination
- Reviewing your documents for completeness before you submit
- Explaining what the office you are applying to expects, and in what order
- Flagging the timing traps, such as a police certificate expiring mid-application
- Help understanding what happens after you submit
What it does not include
- Approval. The certificate is issued or refused by the designated government office, and we have no influence over that decision.
- Any guarantee of eligibility, processing time or outcome.
- The government's own application fee, which you pay directly to them.

Common questions
- Can you guarantee I get the certificate, the visa or the job?
- No, and be careful of anyone who says they can. Those decisions sit with the government office, the school or the employer. What I can do is make sure what you hand in is complete and in the right order.
- Do I need a Skills Certificate just to visit?
- No. The Skills Certificate is about working in another member state. Visiting is a different process, and studying is different again. Tell me which one you are planning and I will point you at the right requirements.
- Does free movement cover studying?
- No, and this catches people out. Free movement is about the right to work. A student normally still has to apply to the destination country's own immigration authority for a student visa or permit.
- What does it cost?
- A Move Planning Consultation, whether you are visiting, working, studying, getting married or setting up a business, is $100. We talk through your situation and tell you what applies before anything else is decided. If you go ahead and book with us, the $100 comes off what you pay, so it works as a booking fee rather than an extra charge.
- How do I send you documents?
- Not through this website. Do not put passport numbers or bank details in any form here. Once we are talking I will tell you how to send them safely.
